Q + A
What does 'Festive Attire' mean - what do I wear?
Festive attire means fun and colourful semi-formal wear.
We encourage guests to wear something fun and bold, with bright colours and accessories. Maybe you have something in your closet and wondered 'where can I wear those sequins to?'. If it makes you feel amazing, that's the look!
That being said, please don't feel like you have to go out and buy something new - just come looking nice.
The ceremony will be on grass, so please be mindful of your shoe choice.
Please no shorts, jeans, jandals, or sneakers during the day. A spare pair of flats/sneakers for the evening dancefloor is fine.
Please do not wear white dresses, or any very pale outfits that photograph white. If in doubt, ask Sarah
Is there a gift registry?
We can't imagine our wedding day without having all of our loved ones here to celebrate with us. We know some of you have come from far and wide, and we're so grateful for the effort you've taken to join us. If you'd like to give a little something towards our honeymoon, we will have a Wishing Well set up at the reception where you can drop cash and loving messages. Alternatively, we welcome donations to the Child Cancer Foundation. Thank you for being a part of our day
Can I bring a guest?
While we would love to accommodate everyone, due to venue limitations, we are not able to accommodate additional guests beyond those specified on your invitation. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us create an intimate and unforgettable celebration.
Can I bring my kids?
While we adore your children, to allow all guests a night of relaxation, uninhibited revelry, maximum swearing, and inappropriate music, we respectfully ask that no children attend our wedding. New babies are of course the exception, and children are very welcome to attend the Sunday BBQ.
We can recommend a number of responsible babysitters we know and trust, if needed.
Thank you for your understanding and we hope you enjoy the adult time!
Can you tell me why 8 March is such an important day?
8 March is International Women's Day. International Women's Day (IWD) has its origins in the early 20th century and emerged as a result of the global women's rights movement. The day is rooted in the struggle for women's equality, particularly in the workplace. The first National Women's Day was organized by the Socialist movement in the United States on February 28, 1909, to commemorate a garment workers' strike in 1908. The idea gained international momentum at the International Conference of Working Women in 1910, where Clara Zetkin proposed the establishment of an annual Women's Day. The first official International Women's Day was celebrated on March 19, 1911, in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. In 1917, Russian women marked the day with a strike for "bread and peace," which eventually led to the fall of the Tsar and paved the way for women's suffrage. Over the years, International Women's Day has evolved into a global celebration, acknowledging the achievements of women and advocating for gender equality and women's rights. It has been celebrated on 8 March since 1975.
When do I need to RSVP by?
We need RSVPs by 8 July 2024 so we can confirm final numbers with our venue. If we don't receive your RSVP in time we will sadly have to mark you as not attending, but we hope we can celebrate with you at a later time!
